It's November!

Hard to believe it is November already. Where does the time go?! I completed my 2008 runner series. David made a big real estate sale in NYC. Susanne is cyclo cross racing her lil' tushie off.

Oh, and today is Election Day!! The Delaneys support Obama. Let's hope that our nation will be smiling at the results this evening.

Love,
Cathleen

The P-Mouth Crit T-minus 5 days!

It's almost here folks and Susanne can soon breathe a huge sigh of relief! The Portsmouth Criterium takes place on Sunday, September 21st starting at 12:30 with the Kids Races. Maybe some of my former students from North Hampton and my most current community Stratham will demonstrate their talents. :) Go Susanne and her racing friend, Robbie King, in their radio interview that I have posted. Let's all go the races!

Susanne and Cath run into the sunset...

...for 5 miles that is! On Saturday, September 6th, the Delaney sisters ran in the "thick as pea soup" humidity with Tropical Storm Hanna on the horizon and both were successful in their results. Speed racer times two in this sport! Only one more race for me in November and I will have completed the Runner Series. CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEW JACKET! Wonder what color it will be?!

Quarry!

Tim, (oh yes I just said the mystery man's name), invited me to his quarry today in Wells, ME. He is a mining engineer and oversees the site on a daily basis, and I was curious to learn a bit more about the machinery and how it all works. We traversed the site, hiked a bit, and also scaled some rocks. Yet the most empowering moment of all was functioning an excavator machine. Never thought I would find myself behind the controls of one of those. I took a risk. Thanks Tim!

Peace

Our dear family friends, the Staskos, suffered a major loss this past month. The beautiful Karen, wife of Michael, mother of Ella and Hazel, daughter-in-law of Marina and Paul, sister-in-law of Alicia and Justin, passed away from colon cancer on August 22, 2008. She will be missed by those who were near and dear to her, yet she is in a better place now for she will no longer feel pain and she may rest peacefully. We will miss you, Karen!

Running mania!

I did it! My second 10K of the season took place this past Thursday, August 21st at Saunders of Rye Harbor. I am so thrilled to say I completed the race with a 9:05 per mile pace and I am proud given I didn't do a lot of training due to a nursing of my shin splints. My mystery man also ran the race and he made me proud with little to no training. Of course, soreness comes with a race like this, and I'll be happy when I am back to normal. :) Only 2 more races to complete the series. I am almost there!!

Blueberries

I would like to disclose a hidden gem in Stratham, NH that my friend Melissa and I visited yesterday. The place-Blueberry Bay Farm. The gem-thousands of plump, juicy berries. Ahhhh....it was a beautiful day, with a crispness to the air and we enjoyed our jaunt, as well as the dragonfly and bunny rabbit who kept us company. Now, onto the baking part. I have a cake in the oven as we speak. Mmmm...delicious!

The kitty toilet training begins!

I know what you are all thinking...how can a cat be toilet trained? Jasmine is on her way to a litter free lifestyle, and mommy couldn't be more proud! Here is a photo of her first attempt with the City Kitty apparatus in yes, none other than a human toilet. She was praised up and down for this accomplishment. I am also including a link to the company that promotes this step by step process.

Mystery Man

There is excitement in the air for Cath! I have now had seven dates with a special someone. I still will not disclose his name publicly so as to create a sense of mystery...hee hee. He makes me happy and my heart is smiling each time I am with him. I feel very fortunate to have met him and I look forward to more memories.

NEBC rocks the Witch Cup!

Susanita and her cycling team did it again. They took first place at the Witch Cup race in Salem, MA this evening. I went in support of my sister, and she rode fiercely and made me proud, as well as all of her teammates. Here is a photo of her upon completing the race, her last one of the season mind you. The smile says it all.

Lil C

And then there is me...Lil C, or Cathleen Marie as it states on my birth certificate. I also live in the town of P-Mouth and love my community! Most recently, I was a 4th grade teacher in Kingston, NH. I have since resigned and am awaiting the next big adventure in my life involving education. In the meantime, I am pursuing my interest in blogging, a certain man (wink wink), and remaining true to my friends and family. This summer of 2008 has been one of the best of my life. I am turning over a new leaf and couldn't be happier. Many events have also added to the fun, such as my trip to Portland, Oregon and San Francisco, California, my friends' Lauren and Jon's wedding, camping in Crawford Notch, and nannying the Metivier family in Vermont and New Hamphire for a couple weeks. Things are on the upswing. Updates to follow...

David

What about David? He resides in New York City, Harlem to be more precise, with his partner Koh. He is a man with a passion that drives him each and everyday--music. Check out some of his compositions on the following website : http://www.mp3.com/artist/daviddelaney/songs/ Being an artist does for some require a day job to pay the bills. Hence, he works as a real estate broker in the city, and let's say his strength in sales allows for many successful transactions. You go brother!

Susanne

Let's talk Susanne...she lives in the adorably charming coastal town of Portsmouth, NH. She most recently acquired a position as an Operations Officer at the National Passport Center on the Pease Tradeport, is the Race Director for the Portsmouth, NH Criterium, and is a elite team cyclist who is on her last leg of the 2008 race season. I just don't think she has enough to do?! A super passionate and dedicated woman in her personal and professional life.

Welcome to Delaney-ville where you will remain up to date with the latest happenings as our worlds continue to collide now and forever. I love you, my dear sister and brother.
